Assembly took ~6 person hours with a couple of mistakes that required taking some pieces apart and reassembling. Multiple pieces were not labeled with numbers and the instructions were somewhat difficult to follow. This piece is very sturdy but note that it weighs ~240 lbs in total. Converting it from a cabinet to a bed is definitely a 2 person operation as the top is quite heavy. A 6" trifold mattress just barely fits - it makes it hard to use the latch and puts pressure on the front panel such that it slightly bends outwards. We recently purchased this king-size bed frame and overall, we’re really happy with it. Be aware right away—this thing is big and arrives in four separate boxes. Assembly is no small task either it took my husband about 5–6 hours to put together on his own. So definitely plan ahead for that. Once it’s set up though, it really delivers. The bed sits low to the ground, which we actually love since we co-sleep with our kids—it just feels safer and more practical for our family. The fully enclosed design with the attached nightstands adds another layer of safety, especially for little ones, and it also creates a really cozy, secure feeling for us as adults. It kind of gives off that tucked-in, relaxing vibe that makes it easier to unwind at night. Style-wise, it’s sleek and modern, and the built-in storage spots are super convenient. I always keep water nearby at night, and having it right within arm’s reach without needing a separate nightstand has been such a small but meaningful upgrade. We did have one issue—one of the reading lights stopped working on day one. But I have to give credit where it’s due customer service was fantastic. They were quick, responsive, and replaced the part right away without any hassle. The only real downside is how much space it takes up—it definitely dominates the room. I was initially skeptical…will I like, will I not and if not how much will it cost me to ship back But I can tell you this unit is indeed a KEEPER! Lots of work to put together (took me 3 days) but the end result is well worth it. Perfect color and size. We took 3 days to assemble fully. Quality is nice, however, instructions are not always clear. Some steps should come before others for easier assembly. There are very limited written instructions which make it confusing. We had to drill holes in one piece ourselves to assemble properly. We were told to raise legs on the cabinet if installing on carpet, now the doors don't reach the top of the cabinet. Can't go back and lower them now, because the unit is attached to the wall. We added some padding in the door hooks to raise them a tad, now it's at least functional. More explanation is needed for a lot of these steps. Overall it will definitely serve it's purpose.. Susan.
