This is so beautiful. Just what I wanted! I did not use the bottom piece because I wanted the fireplace to be shorter than the window. Assembly of the mantle was straightforward. First of all I love it! I could not believe though that the shelves were not made of clear glass so the lights illuminate both the top and bottom. So I bought two 11X14 picture frames, cheap at the dollar store, and used just the glass and the frame as shelves. They fit perfectly. I then used one of the wood shelves as a base for my subwoofer. When we received the console and was putting it together we noticed one of the doors was broken, so we decided not to send it back or put the doors on it. It took about an hour to assemble. I am confused about the led lights in the back because there's no instructions for them, I just left them rolled up. I put white stone in there, caulked the seems. Love the top of this fireplace!! It’s hollow but looks beautiful. We love the look of this fireplace even the original color looked nice. The other reviews are true the panels chip very easy at the corners but it wasn’t a problem for us bc we wanted a black fireplace. It’s kind of silly we bought this to paint it BUT we loved the look just not the color we wanted plus it was on sale and other black fireplaces were over 1500 dollars so we saved 800 with a little labor..
