Made with handwoven wool, this 9x12 rug is an exciting new edition of the flatweave line in Rug & Kilim’s award-winning Scandinavian Collection—a contemporary reimagining of vintage and mid-century modern Swedish Modernist and minimalist designs of the Rollakhan and Rya weaving traditions. On the Design: Soft hues of blue and green underscore a geometric diamond pattern with a tiny flower bud-like design at every crossing for exemplified finesse in this rug. Keen eyes and admirers of the craft will note the tasteful look of abrash in the colorway—a meticulous element of this collection that lends traditional Scandinavian geometry a subtle sense of movement and variety. Our flatweave’s more durable, weighted body is also a hallmark of the collection, made for high-traffic and heavy-furniture spaces. This, alongside several elements detailed here, represent R&K Principal Jahanshah Nazmiyal’s hope to honor this mid-century modern aesthetic. His Scandinavian Collection is a contribution to that style, and a renaissance for its designs with more comfortable, current techniques. A abstract rug, hand-knotted in distressed style wool from rug and kilim’s homage collection. Further on the design: this design enjoys geometric patterns in tones of beige-brown, blue and gray that favor a brilliant, layered look. There’s a deft hand behind this approach to a polychromatic colorway, and the look is as much a work of art as a handmade rug. Keen eyes will admire the many levels that such an otherwise smart, sophisticated piece enjoys in this shabby elegance texture. This remarks our easy-to-maintain, comfortable wash, and an inventive rustic modern design with vast applications. Made with handwoven wool, this runner rug is an exciting new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Scandinavian rug collection—a contemporary reimagining of Swedish minimalism and vintage rugs and textiles of Rollakan and Rya traditions. On the Design: This new flat weave reinvents vintage Scandinavian Kilim in ways that both honor the Swedish minimalist aesthetic and modernize its construction. Our use of undyed natural yarns, for example, lends a subtle striae with more of a sense of movement and depth—a subtle nod to Rollakan techniques in a modern fashion. The design enjoys geometric patterns in tones of seafoam blue, beige and cream, with intricate variations in the colors from the aforementioned weaving style. Admirers of the craft will appreciate this proprietary technique of ours that both innovates and honors mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style. Our flatweave’s more durable, weighted body is also a hallmark of the collection, made for high-traffic and heavy-furniture spaces. Introducing a hand-tufted area rug with a vibrant design that's inspired by Southwestern aesthetics. A warm brown and beige color palette creates a welcoming look while showing off a central medallion and an ornately patterned border. Woven from wool, a low 0.2" pile height makes it ideal for high-traffic locations like your living room or entryway. And, even with a canvas backing, we still think it's a good idea to place a rug pad underneath (sold separately). For hassle-free upkeep, simply spot-clean with water as needed.

Looks even better in person! The stitching and design are a bit muted and blend really nicely. Very happy with this rug.. Jill. Los Angeles. Fri May 30 2025

This handmade area rug adds a classic, vintage-inspired aesthetic to your space. It's hand-hooked from 100% wool, and it offers cushion as well as natural resistance to stains and moisture. The design features an all-over botanical pattern in hues of blue, yellow, and brown. With a thick 0.75'' pile height, this rug is great for rooms that need to feel cozier but aren't high in foot traffic like a family room or den. Bonus: It comes with a canvas backing that we recommend pairing with a rug pad to add cushion underneath and prevent slipping and sliding (sold separately).
