Came upon this when looking for DIY pole holders. Purchased the larger size and am very happy. Product came with clear instructions and was easy to put together. The pole insert seems sturdy as well, but I am thinking I will drill a hole on bottom so no water accumulates at bottom.. The piece looks nice and seems sturdy. I’ve tried other ways of anchoring outdoor string light and this is by far the best looking. They recommend stringing lighter weight string lights which does help a lot. It is simple to assemble. It took less than 5 minutes to put together. It also includes the anchoring hardware or ground mounting hardware. I just add the concrete for stability. The lamp post has a nice brown finish. It does measure 10 feet tall and does accommodate a 3” diameter light. Looked sweet when I first tested it. Once it was hung I turned it back on and a bulb popped. I used the replacement bulb but I guess there is another bulb out. I like the way it looked so I’m going to buy some replacement bulbs but I hope pe this isn’t a sign for this to be happening more often or quicker than the norm. The 5” x 5” mounting plate is welded to the pole and provides a sleek, professional look to your installation. The durable powder-coated poles are 9’6” tall when assembled and allow you to hang string lights in spans up to 30ft between poles (G40 string lights recommended).
