A 1.5" thick flame mahogany tabletop with an outswept Duncan Phyfe pedestal and turned column.   This tabletop is heavy, and it sits on an overbuilt pedestal with steel-reinforced, outswept saber legs, terminating in solid brass-capped feet and levelers. This custom design offers homeowners extraordinary "floor to table" clearance; therefore, the table has generous room for armchairs and taller guests.  The table has a NATURAL finish, which is a clear lacquer topcoat, and the mahogany's natural colors exhibit amber, orange, reddish browns, and darker brown tannins.  The flame mahogany tabletop has a fine black and white inlay.

Designed in the style of the 19th-century architect Thomas Hope. Hope’s style was based on the popular regency period. A round/oval top is veneered in a bordeaux pattern with map burl borders. The top rests over four fluted columns raised by tapering saber legs that terminate to gilded ball feet. This table is absolutely gorgeous and very sturdy. I managed to get both leaves in to extend the table without assistance, as well, though I haven't tried taking them back out yet. Hand Planed Heavily Distressed Dining Table.

This really works for my area where I don't have much space and don't need a full size dining table all the time. It's more like a 'sofa table' when closed up and I use it as a laptop desk most of the time. I wish the ends were less curvy, but it was the only table I could find that matched my needs.
