I have a very small patio and it gets so much sun I rarely use it. This was a good solution. I did add curtains (with velcro tabs) and some lights. Theres ONE tricky part when assembling, the part where the legs go into the frame have a slight slant, if theyre not in the correct corners, the legs go every which way! This freestanding outdoor gazebo pergola is really great. It was not that hard to put together, and the directions are really good. This is a great pergola! I love that it provides an area of shade on my back porch without blocking the sunlight coming into my house completely. The roof itself is light filtering, which is great because it’s not completely blacked out. I love the curtains and mash liner so that I can enclose it if I need to or keep it open. The installation itself was not accurate according to the instruction pamphlet. It only needed two people, but took between six and eight hours to assemble. This do-it-yourself project is easily installed by 2 people with no experience or special tools required.

Easy to put up. Made in China so you should be handy and able and comfortable to manually correct possible misalignments. I had to drill a new hole for joists on both ends for a proper fit but it was easy enough since I fix and install everything in the house. The panels can also be a bit delicate installing. You don't want to hit them with a rubber mallot off from the edges or ding them too hard since they're closed cell polycarnonate panels. They're sturdy enough but if you damage one badly water and ice could get into one of the panels cells/channels. What I will say is after 2 days and 2-3 people helping here and there the patio cover looks amazing. Everyone comments on it. The price is great. I had quotes for wooden deck covers ranging from 10,000 - 15,000 and no way for light to come through which would have made my livingroom a dark room during the day. It is very nice and more sturdy that I thought it would be. We didn’t bolt it to the deck because we didn’t want to drill into Trex. But we did bolt it to the house which worked good. I really liked this pergola. We needed some extra shade for our goat pen to provide extra shade and it works perfect. We did switch out the bungees that were included to a stronger bungee due to the high winds we have and they fit great. Easy to install and it took my husband and I about an hour to install. Instructions were easy to follow and all the parts were properly labeled. We also used flower pots and cemented the legs in them to provide extra weight. terrible! I paid and wait for half a year to get the product. About three weeks ago, I installed. Today I found it is nearly broken in the middle of the beam. I have to use supporting poles.
