I was expecting the blades to look more natural. They are plastic and they look like plastic. Everything else is metal and high end. The fan works perfectly and so does the light. This ceiling fan is a really nice unit. However, the instructions (obviously a "so so" translation from a foreign language into English) were not entirely clear throughout. Assembly and installation of the fan required a fair amount of "handy man" knowledge and experience to get through some unclear/confusing parts of the instructions. Gorgeous! We are very happy with our purchase of the Alessandra Tropical ceiling fan with light in gray ashed tone w/brushed nickel. I was looking for something for our guest room in our Florida home that would help make our guests feel they were on vacation and this fit the bill. We've thrilled with our purchase. The only negative is that the remote changes the light warmth but not necessarily the brightness - there is no dimming option on remote. This fan is ornate and decorative. My husband thinks it’s pretty and he chose the style. I prefer a little simpler style but in a marriage you compromise since he is the installer! lol the fan blade is wood and we chose to put this under our covered patio. Texas heat is brutal so I don’t expect the fan to actually Cool is but more to deter the mosquitos when we step outside in the evening. However with its 6 speeds, it does move a good amount of airflow. Installation directions shows directions for four fans, and it’s simple enough. I do like the fan blades style.
