I never had health problems till now. I have allergies I never had before along with MCAS and an autoimmune disease , dustmite allergies; mold allergies. With all the different types of pillows from feathered to memory foam that I've had , I've learned that it's important to have a pillow you can wash and dry thoroughly. I have had every type of pillow for every different problem , even for back and side sleepers. Memory foam can be comfortable but it's warm and you can't wash it. A fluffy feathered pillow is heavenly as long as your allergy free. I am new to the Downlite pillows which I think I'll be please with . My next purchase will be the Downlite Enviroloft pillow that is AAFA certified because of mild COPD. After looking at so many pillows and the sales pitches out there I feel that these were the best choice for washing and drying frequently. Either this or going back to feathered which I'm concerned about ending up with that allergy too in time. Plus, dustmites love them and just because you have dustmite covers you still have to wash everything. Also,Yes, memory foam can be nice for the neck but you can have issues with allergies when it comes to them too. They do have there down sides. We really like this waterproof mattress pad. We have a dog who sometimes has small accidents during the night. The pad fits our deep mattress easily and the fabric prevents any moisture from seeping through. One tip, we bought this as a replacement for the exact pad. Do not wash in a washer with an agitator. I washed the last one in our new agitator top load. It shredded the underside fabric and really made a mess. Be sure to remove the agitator if possible or safely wash in a front load.. Janet. This set of two queen-size pillows came rolled and vaccuum-packed, then sealed in plastic, then placed in a mailing envelope. As such, there’s a fish-like smell to the pillows. Make sure to follow the instructions of airing them out or better yet, drying them in the dryer (if you have a big-enough dryer). The “drying” can also fluff them up some more.
