This mat is exactly what I was looking for! I recently had my front door redone and now I have french doors....I needed a wide mat but not long. I also preferred a simple mat and that's just what this mat is! It feels sturdy and coarse (to get the dirt off shoes before entering). The black and jute are classy! Place this heavy-duty doormat at your doorway to clean off your shoes before entering your home. The doormat features a hand-stenciled design that offers a warm invitation to guests. With a near 2" pile height, this doormat provides an elegant addition to your doorway. Handmade and constructed from 100% coir fiber, this durable doormat withstands outdoor conditions easily and removes dirt from the bottoms of shoes to prevent tracking dirt across indoor flooring. The biodegradable coir fiber material is environmentally friendly and compostable. For optimal results, the manufacturer suggests using this doormat in a sheltered area, such as a covered porch, and keeping exposure to extreme moisture and sunlight to a minimum. If these doormats are excessively exposed to the elements, some color transfer may occur onto natural stone, concrete, or other surfaces and stenciled designs may eventually fade.

Naturally harvested coir fibers are hand-woven using traditional looms and then sheared to create a dense pile that helps to trap dirt, and moisture, and clean shoes. Elegant designs are hand stenciled on the doormat using fade-resistant dyes. Heavy coir backing keeps the doormat in place and locks the fibers in to minimize shedding. Coir fiber is naturally mold and mildew-resistant. Handmade from coir fibers, a renewable resource, coir mats are environmentally friendly and made with a minimal carbon footprint. Coir mats are completely biodegradable and compostable. For optimal results, the manufacturer suggests using this doormat in a sheltered area, such as a covered porch, and keeping exposure to extreme moisture and sunlight to a minimum. If the doormats are excessively exposed to the elements, some color transfer may occur onto natural stone, concrete, or other surfaces and stenciled designs may eventually fade. The texture of the fibers is normal and adds a special character to each individual doormat. During the first few weeks, it is normal for the coir doormat to shed fibers.

Our casual coir doormat is a classic design that stops dirt and sand right at the door. Made from durable natural coconut fibers, it's backed with PVC for added stability. Coir is best used in covered locations such as a porch, or indoors.

I genuinely like this rug, though it possesses a few characteristics worth mentioning. On the positive side, the packaging was excellent; the rug was easy to unwrap and showed no signs of curling upon being laid out. I originally purchased it for indoor use, but because the coir material is much firmer than I expected, I am relocating to my outdoor terrace. My only significant critique concerns its maintenance. The fibrous material easily traps hair and fine debris, which can be quite stubborn to remove.. Aaron. Houston, TX. Sun Aug 16 2026
