The height is quite comfortable, an important consideration for an older adult such as myself. The width of the chair is perfect- not too wide or too small. I love that it came with a lumbar pillow. The style of the legs and wooden frame are so French looking! I have been looking for quite some time to get chairs for my library area and these are perfect. The chairs are quite firm and the seat allows you to sit up ( something that I prefer as compared to seats so deep you’re really lying down). The chair itself I like, it’s sturdy and make of heavy real wood. The chair is pretty comfortable though the quality of the cushions I don’t believe would hold up to long term use. This is in our basement so I think it will be fine for here and there. Why 4 stars The assembly was terrible. The instructions were not clear. They need to provide different Allen wrench, lucky got me my husband had a tool that helped or I was so frustrated. So get yourself the auto retract took or this will take forever to assemble due to the way the holes are set. Also note there should be another step they combined two and it was confusing to the point I had to take part off and redo. It does sit lower for a living room chair too so note that.
