This table is absolutely darling. Its more of a baby Blue in person. The reason I gave it four stars, exactly as other reviews have stated, it does have an atrocious odor. I intentionally opened it outside, prepared for the stench if the reviews I read were accurate. They were in fact accurate. The smell, I dont know what it is but its awful. I am in the midst of moving so I have the opportunity to let it air out before I bring it into the home. And theres no way around it, it must air out. As others have also mentioned, it does arrive a bit dingy and needs a good wipe down. It will air out, and the smell will dissipate. I would purchase it again but with the intention of knowing I do not want to open this in my house. I opened it outside my front door where it was dropped off, afterwards I went outside to my back, 20 minutes later when I walked in I could smell the smell just from me opening the box and walking inside. I really like it! I had my doubts as we were taking it out of the box. I thought it looked too big. And too white. But now surrounded by chairs and the couch, it's perfect. It's really cute and the shabby chic distressed-look is just right. You may get splinters a bit however along the edges. So if you're looking for upscale and formal, this may not work for you. This is a natural, uncontrollable characteristic of solid wood furniture. To avoid damage, we recommended the use of tabletop coasters. Care: Wipe with a soft, dry cotton cloth. Wipe spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid using cleaners and the abrasive carved box is made by skilled artisans and designed to last a lifetime with proper maintenance. We use good quality wood and proven carpentry skills to create a strong piece. The intricate pattern is elegant without seeming old fashioned so you can place the box in a modern room. It will add a hint of warmth to contemporary or minimalist spaces without sticking out like a sore thumb.

Although this is a very labor-intensive piece to make, we love making these. They are completely handmade using pine wood and hand-hammered clavos (nailheads) that we antique in a silver-tone.
