Weathervanes have been looked up to for hundreds of years. Popular in Europe, weathervane is valued for the function as much as the design. Farmers, seafarers, and others would watch the weathervane to get the weather forecast by paying close attention to changes in breathing, an indicator of bad or good weather. It is a hand-crafted fully-functional weathervane. Yes, it will still tell you if the wind is changing direction and will look great doing so.

First of all, this piece is absolutely gorgeous and very well made. I gave this weathervane to my husband because we have about 45 domestic ducks and 25 wild ducks on our farm. This looks just like the ducks when they are coming in for a landing and they ski down the surface of the pond! He absolutely loved it! I put it together, EASILY, and he even mounted it on our well house in the dark! because he was so anxious to see it! We all live on farms in our area. The neighbors have even noticed it from the road and commented on how beautiful it is! It's like a museum piece! Don't pass this one up! You will love it! Wayfair, as always, you've done it again!.
