these plates are just as pictured !! they do scratch a bit with a steak knife. they are Thick though. i have several sets of outdoor plates and these are always a hit with guests because you don't feel like your plate is so thin and will slide away ! i love the 11" size also which can be difficult to find at an affordable price. glad that i purchased these !!.
