It's four stars because some of it is plastic. This unit is not all metal but it still functions and works really well. One important thing to note is that the handheld wand is activated by a manual lever behind the shower head. Goes nicely with the matching faucet set from Wayfair. As with the faucet, nice finish that wipes clean easily. My plumber recommended Delta as a good mid-range brand for which he can find parts when repairs are needed. The mixing valve is tight and adjusts the temperature accurately...very important to consider (if you have ever had a cheap one that just can't get it right).
