this worked perfectly for my purposes. we have a small deck off our kitchen. a young guy moved across the street and decided to use his garage as a gym with the door always open and machines pointed toward us so he was always staring Into our house. Transparent or semi-transparent exterior stains will maintain the natural wood look, while solid stains will cover more of the natural wood grain.
