Pretty nice looking boxes. Nothing super spectacular, but nice. They were packaged pretty well, except there should have been some padding between the latch of the small box and the inside of the larger box. The latch on the small box punctured the inside of the larger box in shipping. It's not a big enough deal to me to get them replaced, but something to note. Hopefully that's not the norm. Wow! I love these…but I had no idea they were painted or printed wood (the multicolored all over design); I honestly thought the colored design was fabric and that these were fabric covered boxes! They look like fabric in the pics online, and even in person. It wasn’t until I got them and removed them from the great and careful packaging that I touched them and was shocked that they were all wood. Even better, i thought, because they won’t get pilled or snag over time like fabric would. I also wasn’t expecting them to be so BIG! I mean, I saw the measurements, but the larger one is so much bigger then I imagined it would be…this isn’t necessarily a problem per se, but it does mean that I’ll have to find a different use for the larger one then I planned, which is fine. I thought they would be bigger but decided to keep them anyway because the teal with gold trim is really pretty and looks so elegant. I bought them for staging our home to sell and I separated them and put a small ceramic or glass animal in each one as a surprise if anyone opens a cover.
