This ceiling fan looks beautiful over the bed in our beach house. It is unique in the way that the rattan is in lines and is also done in a double layer like light. It has a ceiling fan that is attached to top of it and you use remote control to open the fan up and to close it. When it’s closed it just sits folded up at top. When you want to use it you push button and speed and it circulates and the blades unfold and open as it picks up speed. It looks amazing. Again. Very unique. Still looks coastal but also a more modern version of the coastal look as opposed to the older leaf like blades that have been around forever. The color is light and neutral so it goes with many things. You can put different types of bulbs in it as well as different shades of color. It went up easily and it seems to be made very well. The prettiest fan EVER...BUUUUT!!! It stop working in 7 months. The light won't go out. Called an Electrician and he said the unit had to be replaced. We have a "Florida basement" storage room in our modern organic coastal home that needed a light. This was perfect, nice (not cheap) quality and a little fun. I was looking for a non-traditional ceiling medallion for my Organic Modern decorating style. This is perfect. It is real wood and you can smell it. It comes in a variety of colors and I chose one that ties my "greige" colors with darker browns. Also, we need to move the ceiling fixture because it is not centered over the dining table. This shade was a great replacement for the old, yellow one that broke. It features a soft, bright matte white finish. Although it comes with a cap equipped with two holes for pull chains, only the center chain is functional because the opening is too narrow to use the fan chain—at least for my model of fan.
