This cutting board was inspired by the original boos butcher blocks that were made from a solid piece of hardwood. their product is as close to nature as you can get and has a unique story. Each board is kiln-dried, with rustic edges and slight variances. You can even count the age rings. Some of their boards will have more grain than others; some will have knotholes and discolorations. It took longer than expected to receive the countertop but it arrived in immaculate condition and looks amazing. I put on 3 thin coats of wipe-on water based satin polyurethane to protect it and sanded lightly with steel wool in between coats. This product is made from acacia wood from Thailand, a non-endangered species that is not harvested from rainforests. We plant a tree for every tree we use. After use, wash this product in warm soapy water and wipe excess water off with a dry towel. Never soak or leave water on the wood during drying as it may result in warping over time. Wood products should never be washed in the dishwasher. Rejuvenate and protect your board by rubbing it down with butcher block oil after each use. When the board is dry, apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak in thoroughly before use. Regular application of our butcher block oil will prevent cracking and preserve the rich natural colors of the wood. From time to time, the surface may become "Bumpy". This is completely natural as we leave all of our wood in its natural state with no varnishes or lacquers. You can simply use high grit sandpaper to smooth it out and oil it again to bring it back to the new!

For cutting or serving, as a cheese board or tapas board, here are our cutting boards made of walnut wood. Handcrafted, these boards are perfect for the amateur cook as well as the professional chef. The wood comes from old walnut trees that no longer produce fruit and are cut down to be replaced by young trees. The fruit of the walnut tree brings in more income than the wood itself. It's the way to be sure that we use sustainable resources.

Each board is chosen from a locally sourced tree out of Wooster, Ohio. These trees have gorgeous natural grain patterns. Our boards are not stained but conditioned only to preserve the natural beauty of the piece while making it virtually waterproof and acceptable for food purposes.

Walnut end grain butcher blocks are made of sturdy and dense walnut wood which provides the needed weight to swiftly and safely debone, chop, quarter, cut, and slice.
