Overall we were very happy with this purchase. The only issue we had is that the side spindles were somehow loose in the packaging with other parts and there were several scratches/chips on them. The desk is great overall. I really like the finish and it’s heavy which, for me speaks to the quality of the build. It was a relatively easy process to assemble as well. Unfortunately, there were several dings in the desk that I believe resulted from being delivered by FedEx rather than the delivery company that usually delivers larger pieces of furniture. Therefore, this very large and heavy desk was delivered by one man. I honestly don’t even know how he got it up on the front porch all on his own. Great size and. It too bad to assemble. It is “solid wood” in the sense that it is wood covered with wood laminate. There were some wavy/bubbly spots in the laminate when we got it that have settled a bit with the warmer temps. It is very easily scratched, so we are using a desk pad.
