Solid product BUT significant defect is NO DRAINAGE HOLES. Without them, expect anything planted to sit in soggy roil and rot. Had to buy drill bit and drill it out myself. I used Vulcan brand #028365, which is a 7/16” bit (just shy of 1/2 inch), the largest bit that will fit on a standard drill. Any hole smaller will clog readily and be useless. This is an inexpensive home-user brand readily available at many hardware stores. “Speed steel with a 135 deg split point eliminates the need for center punch and keeps drill from skating on hard surfaces.” Recommended for metals, but package also states plastics. You want the split point to keep the drill from skidding on slick plastic surface. Pain in the neck, though. Why does anyone make a planter without drainage!! There were a few hairline cracks in the large pieces of Flexstone but the contractor thinks he can work around those. The glue was a total loss but we purchased some locally for our project.(A piece of cardboard at the tips would have saved the glue)the top of the box was smashed. Product quality is very good. Assembly instructions were confusing. Took about 2hrs to put together correctly. After sorting out steps it should have taken no more than 45 mins. Unfortunately, after a couple of days "Sami" became indifferent to it. Wasn't worth giving up a living room window for limited use. He doesn't mind the sill of a screened open window. Decided to return it which turned into a bit of a hassle. It had to be sent back using original packaging or equivalent. I took photos of each unpackaging step. Without them, repacking it would have been next to impossible. Wayfair did offer a partial credit if I wanted to keep the item and skip the return process. The ~$35 credit against the $169.99 cost was not acceptable to me so, I managed to repackage it and send it back. Had to pay FEDEX return shipping charge of $33. These planter boxes were for a housewarming gift for a new homeowner. We were very excited to take them to the new home and fill them with plants and brighten the rooms, so we ordered several. The issue was not with the planter boxes themselves, but with Wayfair... The items arrived and two of them were clearly NOT "new" and had black and brown handprints on the outside of the white planters which would not come off, from dirt and/or soot in battered boxes. The other items were fine, but we could not start/finish the project as all of the planters were not usable. We had to scramble and find 6 replacement boxes locally and settle for what we could find which did not match. Trying to deal with the RUDE Wayfair rep to remedy this was even more frustrating. We ended up keeping the boxes due to not wanting to deal with anyone from wayfair again and losing out on hundreds of dollars for the mistake.
