This Modern floating wooden wall shelf combines durability with a modern design. The shelf itself is beautiful. The wood has a rich finish, the craftsmanship feels solid, and it looks great once it’s up. Unfortunately, the hanging hardware is the problem. The shelf uses a cleat-style mounting system, but the included anchors do not hold securely in the wall. Because of that, the shelf slopes forward, which makes it hard to actually use because I don’t feel comfortable placing items on it. Replacing the anchors and screws also is not as simple as a quick swap, since the replacement pieces need to work with the existing cleat-style hardware. I’m concerned about finding something that fits properly and holds securely. Overall, the shelf is very attractive and the wood is beautiful, but the included mounting hardware really affects the functionality. I would recommend it for the look and quality of the shelf itself, but I’d suggest being prepared to replace or upgrade the hanging hardware before relying on it to hold anything.. Janell. This table is one of the many reasons I love Wayfair; it is my first go to place when I'm looking for something beautiful and/or functional for my home! I purchased this table for a short wall to finish off a small china display cabinet I had hanging above the table. Not only does it fit perfectly (36" wide) but the rounded corners and wood tone and color match perfectly with the cabinet. I also love the design on the table legs and the shelf below.
