I absolutely love this desk. Obviously at this price, it is not going to be solid wood. It’s made of particle board in China but it looks so much nicer. Some pieces were a little dinged on the edges, but none of that shows once it’s built. I have it next to a high quality dresser in my bedroom and it fits right in. I love that the top lifts to a standing desk when needed. My husband assembled it on his own and knocked it out pretty quickly. He’s an angel. I would not have enjoyed the process, but he found it very easy. Wayfair shipped it quickly. The only major annoyance is that they used FedEx and my FedEx driver is too lazy to take it out of the truck to deliver it. My Ring camera caught him on two consecutive days coming to my door to take a picture of my empty porch. He didn’t knock or ring and I got notified that delivery was attempted but no one was home. Delivery was not so great, box looked like it had gone through a battlefield. Luckily there was no damage parts inside the box. The desk took me about an hour to put together. Looks great! It’s very sturdy. The black looks really nice. Took my husband two hours to put together but he wasn’t rushing. The drawers open smoothly but they do make slight sound as it sort of scrapes along the metal. The drawers don’t have stoppers so COULD fall on toes BUT they’re so deep that I can’t imagine that happening. We do plan to remedy that in some way because it for our 7yo son, but not necessary for older kids or adults. chair opening is very large which makes it nice for widercrossed-legged chairs.
