It was unveiled with fanfare a new coin to last longer than old-fashioned paper bills and save the taxpayers countless dollars. Just three years later, the entire $857-million program was scrapped amidst the outcry of American citizens and shopkeepers. The Susan B. Anthony disappeared from mintage faster than any coin in U.S. history, all because of a single error in design. The new coins were too similar in size to quarters. Now you can own a set of these historic coins: from years of mintage (1979-1981, 1999) from every U.S. Mint (Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco) that produced the Susan B. Anthony Dollar. All eleven coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, including the scarce 1981 coinage never issued for circulation, struck only for collectors and investors. The Collection is presented in a handsome display case. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Great collection in fine condition. I took mine out of the case and unfortunately some of the adhesive was stuck to the back of each coin which made it tricky to clean each coin without damaging them.. Edward. US. Thu Aug 03 2023

Own a piece of Civil War history, a single civil war token is displayed in a mat and clear protective sleeve. From 1861 to 1864, as the Civil War raged on the battlefields, another sort of war was fought in the streets and shops of America. It was a battle against the hardship of scarcity of U.S. Mint coins. Citizens fought back by using privately issued tokens, many carrying strong political sentiments. The tokens were made of a variety of metals; copper or brass, nickel or German silver, alloys or Silver. These are valuable pieces of American history.

The legend of the silver mercury dime minted from 1916 to 1945 begins at a rental unit in new york city in 1913. Adolf Weinman a sculptor captured the beauty of his tenant, Elsie stevens while she sat for a portrait bust. Weinman was then selected by us mint to design the dime in 1916. It is said he used the bust of stevens as his inspiration when designing liberty for the obverse of the new dime. One look at the portrait of stevens and one can see the stunning similarities in the profiles. Weinman added the winged cap to enhance the strength of lady liberty in thought. The reverse shows fasces and olive branch to represent war, justice and peace. The mercury dime is composed of .900 fine silver and is 17.91mm in diameter. The last three years of the silver mercury dime 1943, 1944 and 1945 are encased in a sealed protective acrylic. A certificate of authenticity is included.

All U.S. currency printed prior to 1928 were known as "Horse blankets" or "Saddle blankets" due to their large size. Although similar in design to the dollar bills of today, the large size notes were almost one third larger than the smaller bills printed after 1928. The last of these large size notes was the prized One Dollar Blue Seal Silver Certificate of 1923, which features the portrait of George Washington painted by one of the nation's most famous artists, Gilbert Stuart. Introduced by an Act of Congress in 1878, Silver Certificates were backed by Silver held in the U.S. Treasury and could actually be redeemed for exactly $1 of Silver Bullion until June 24, 1968. The obligation is stated on the obverse of the Silver Certificate: "One Silver Dollar payable to the bearer on demand." The Large Silver Certificate is displayed on an acrylic frame and can be viewed on both sides. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.

This is exactly what Ive been wanting the only idea opportunity to get it and it was perfect thank you. Ralph. Kalamazoo, MI. Sat Jun 03 2023
