This chandelier is a major improvement over the builder grade 3 bulb chandelier that was much too small for the 20 foot ceilings in our rotunda foyer. We did have to pay more than the chandelier itself cost for it to be installed and put together (each crystal must be hung by hand after the frame is completed and hung), but it was still more reasonable than other chandeliers that we looked at that we did not like as much. We are very happy with this purchase! My only two complaints are that the chain is not longer to hang in a two story space and the electrical cord that comes with the chandelier is black, so you must use the velvet sleeves to cover it. If the electrical cord was clear or gold (as on our kitchen chandelier), I would prefer to just see the chain and not cover it. Our electrician was able to add a few links he had, but the velvet covers were not quite long enough to cover it entirely. I don't think that anyone can really see it from downstairs as it is at the very top that the chain is exposed. I would give this five stars if the cord was not so visible!. Laura. Aldie, VA. Beautiful Chandelier—But I Would Definitely Change the Gold Finish I’m giving this chandelier five stars because the end result is absolutely stunning, but there is one major caveat. We wanted a large, modern, all-crystal chandelier for our bathroom and had difficulty finding anything this size without spending several thousand dollars. The crystals on this light are gorgeous, and it makes a beautiful statement. We initially hired an electrician and a helper to install it on our 15-foot barrel ceiling. Despite the height and the large number of crystals, they had no trouble assembling or hanging it, and the entire installation took about 2½ hours. The problem was the gold finish. Once it was hanging, my husband and I both thought the gold looked very cheap and really took away from an otherwise beautiful chandelier. Unfortunately, our electrician had already thrown away the box, so returning it wasn’t an option. We ended up removing every crystal, taking the chandelier back down, and painting the fixture with a champagne-bronze metallic paint. We then rehung it and replaced all the crystals ourselves. What a difference! The new finish completely elevated the chandelier. It now looks elegant, expensive, and comparable to fixtures in our home that cost several thousand dollars. We absolutely love it. My recommendation: If you love the design but want a more high-end look, paint the gold finish before installing it—and definitely before hanging all those crystals!
