This product is easy to use right out of the box. There’s two baskets for the single cup side so you can brew with grounds or a k-cup. I’ve used both and both work well. There are ridges in the water basin so you can brew small to large cups. The traditional multi-cup pot side is pretty standard with a mesh filter basket and pour in feature. When you hit brew on either side, it takes a minute to heat the water before it starts coming out but you can hear it so you know it’s doing something. ** UPDATE** this coffee maker broke after a couple of weeks of daily use. I emailed the customer service email address that was provided by the company in the booklet it came with and they have ignored me. I’m really frustrated. It only dispenses about 2 ounces of coffee. You have to open and close it and reset it 3-4 times to get 2 more ounces each time. Also, when you open it, it sprays hot water on you which is dangerous. I tried all the troubleshooting tips the booklet suggested and now the company is ghosting my email. If I got a defective unit they should be happy to send a replacement but the lack of customer service is unacceptable. I would NOT recommend this coffee maker or anything else from this brand. ** I’m really liking this coffee maker so far! My old one was big and bulky and I only drink one cup of coffee a day so I needing something smaller and simpler. I love how this one has the option of filling the pod with ground coffee or using pods that you buy already filled. It also has an iced coffee setting, several size options for different cup sizes, and a bold or regular option. I was really impressed by how quickly it heats up and makes a cup of coffee. I’m really happy with this espresso machine! I’ve been using it at home and honestly love it. It’s simple to use, heats up pretty quickly, and the coffee comes out really good with a nice crema on top. I also love the steam wand because I can froth my milk and make lattes at home. It took me a little practice to get the hang of it, but once I did, it was pretty easy. Another plus is how nice it looks on my counter. It has a clean, modern look without being too big or taking up a ton of space. It also feels sturdy and well made. So far, I have no complaints. It worked great. The filters prevented the coffee grounds from going into my cup. It made my cup of coffee in under 5 min. The 4-cup espresso and cappuccino machine uses a steam/boiler to quickly heat water until steam is produced. The steam creates pressure to force the water into the filter holder and through the coffee grounds to brew the espresso directly into the glass carafe. When the espresso has reached the bottom line marking on the glass carafe, you can stop the brewing and switch to frothing milk. When you finish frothing, turn the selector switch back to the coffee brewing position. The powerful steam/boiler reduces warm-up time to less than 2 minutes, producing 2 to 4 cappuccinos or lattes in less than 5 minutes.
