Very soft and comfortable. You really dont notice its there while sleeping, and it does a great job filling the gap between split mattresses. The only minor downside is if one side of the adjustable bed is raised and the other isnt, it can shift a little—but thats expected with split adjustable beds, not a flaw with the product. Solid bed rails and I was really happy they also come with bed slats. Only negative is there is a black marker line (sharpie?) on one of the bed rails that is on the side that is visible when put together. I have a guest room where I pushed two twin beds, and mattresses together to create a king bed. I got a strap to push the mattresses together, but there was still a 6-7" gap in the middle caused by the bed frames. That caused a divot in the middle of the bed. Problem solved with this bed board.
