The large wooden feeder has a few design flaws. The acrylic windows doesnt stay in place and the wood is very thin and the screws became stripped and wouldnt tighten. The tracks for the windows doesnt line up well and made it difficult to slide the windows in place. Its not as sturdy as I hoped and am worry that it will fall apart once seeds are placed in and birds try to come eat. Its a nice concept but it does fall short of the mark. This pair of resin squirrels are very cute and add a little charm and character to my garden! I am not using them as bird feeders because I have so many squirrels in my garden that I’m sure they would empty the small amount of bird seed they would hold before any bird could get to them! Also, these squirrel statues are rather lightweight. I accidentally knocked one over while doing yard work and it cracked open easily. That’s the reason I’m giving four stars rather than five. I do like these resin squirrels very much and was very disappointed when one broke. The hole is in the tail area of the squirrel so I still have it out but I don’t think I’ll leave them out over a Chicago winter. I suspect the temperature extremes would make them crack or be brittle. I recommend them as garden decorations as long as you place them in a place where they aren’t likely to fall.. Cheryl.
