Okay! SO- first time chicken owner here. We live in Maryland and are raising chicks and ducks from babies. We live in the woods and therefore have a ton of natural predators. The coop on its own is not SUPER sturdy, but not the worst quality I have seen and works well for a yard that slopes. There are some gaps, so we enclosed the top and bottom with hardware mesh stapled into the wood and secured with cement blocks just to be sure everything would be safe, and so far so good! The cover seems like it will be reasonable for the raincolder temps. Used Wayfair assembly service, which was good but it did take 3 men four hours to assemble just FYI. Overall, happy!. Anonymous. I love the new coop and plan to use it for newly hatched chicks. There is nothing else on the market that meets my needs like this one. My needs are as follows-good air flow because I live in Texas and it is hot, snake-proof, multiple openings for ease of cleaning, feeding, and watering. Also, I feel like the price is reasonable for what I got. It will stay in our detached garage so it will not have exposure to weather.
