I bought the 12’x12’ Size and it is awesome! It provides amazing shade on our sun drenched mountain back porch. It’s substantial, impressive and beautiful. I also purchased a compatible wheeled base, which I highly recommend if you think you’ll need it to be portable. The only issue is that the upper canopy arrived with a small tear in it and we’re waiting on next steps from the manufacturer. We just installed this 10'' round umbrella in a Water Tank Base The instructions were good, and the umbrella functions as advertised Four star rating because the 2-piece Cover Plate that goes on top of the base, around the the base tube and main tube, does not snap together at all This is a poorly-designed object, and I hope this problem does not hint at other problems with this umbrella. He needed to add some blocking under the deck and he used 5.5 inch structural screws to anchor it to the deck underpinning’s. It worked very well and feels rock solid. Previously we had a 30 inch square thick plastic anchor which was so bulky you couldn’t slide chairs out on that side of the table. We wanted an alternative to installing an awning, and this umbrella fits the bill. We've had it for a couple weeks and so far we love it. It's easy to raise, lower, tilt, and swivel. Putting it together was pretty simple, but definitely requires two people so one can hold the umbrella/pole in place. Don't attach the feet if you're going to use a base because you attach it directly to the base instead. (We bought the Madeley Plastic Free Standing Umbrella Base, which uses water or sand. It does not come with a base, just criss-cross feet.) The pole and supports are stout. This umbrella with the wheeled base was a bit more expensive than other similar products, but it looks so good. An important feature of this product is the wheeled base. It’s pretty easy to move this huge thing around even with the base filled with water. We are glad we chose the one with the wheeled base. You really don’t know where to put the umbrella in your patio or deck until you try it. It’s a beautiful umbrella once put together. The reason for removing one star is that the instructions should be more clear.
