When I think of cost spent, this is probably one of the least necessary things. It’s nice to have if you take a shower during the time that is set on your timer but when don’t there isn’t much time to manually have it heat up. Plus for two towels to get much of the heat, it’s hard bc really only two spots for it to get any heat. It works great though and is nice looking. Favorite thing in bathroom is heated floors. This Delta Shower column is great! Very sturdy and well made. The flexible hose is very nice and stretches very far. The adjustable handheld holder and diverter are plastic, but feel robust and solid. I used with existing Delta shower head and Hansgrohe Handheld. You will need to be very handy if you are going to install by yourself. Install requires to drill four holes into the back. With title, that can hard if you don’t have right tools and experience. Looks great and works really well! This was easy to install. Even came with the teflon pipe thread tape. I wish they had noted the wrench sizes needed in the instructions so I could have prepared. I ended up using a pair of vise grip pliers because it needed two different fairly large metric wrenches. The reason this was important for our use is that the selector switch is at the bottom of the vertical rod. That makes it easy for my short wife to control. The main and upper connection comes with an adapter if your fitting is in a hollow wall as was mine or you leave the adapter off if your fitting is flush with the wall surface. The bottom can mount three different ways. It has a suction cup mount which didn’t work for me because the tile grout lines were right where it needed to be. If you do use the suction mount, you press it against the wall and then rotate the ring that then pulls back on the cup to make a strong seal. You can screw a circular plate to the wall or use the double stick tape fitting which is what I did. You can angle the rain or let it just come straight down.
