This is a beautiful piece. It did take two people to put together, but it was pretty straightforward. The space on top provides us with extra room to display items, and the drawers are perfect for storing trash bags, etc. The only reason for the four stars versus five is that we purchased this item to use in our kitchen as a trash can, as described, and it came with cloth -like storage baskets. I originally bought a LeLand Loon tissue cover and then I wanted matching trash can. It is the same beauty, the same quality. Like the tissue cover it has 2 different pictures of loons. The color is in warm tones palette and medium brightness. Color pine wood match the color bamboo furniture that we have in our bathroom. The top of trash can has a 1.5 inch trim. A regular plastic bag for small trash can isn't wide enough to go around trim. So decide for yourself if you want to deal with it or not. I bought this trash can almost a year ago and during this time nothing bad like wooden cracks or problems with the seams did not happen.
