One side has an arched design on its apron front while the other has a high horizontal ledge. The smooth glazed finish is scratch and stain-resistant and shows off the sink's elegant lines. The sides of the sink have a slight taper from top to bottom. There are many benefits to fireclay. Its glazed surface is eco-friendly requiring fewer cleansers. Apron-style base cabinet is required to support this sink. A note about fireclay: small cracks will appear on the unglazed underside of the sink, these are cosmetic only and have no impact on the performance of the sink.

My family ribs me endlessly over my precious sink! It was shipped in the Arc of the Covenant. We had to use an engine hoist outfitted with a support bar to move the piece into position. It came with brackets and parts to hang on the wall, but at 400 pounds, the wall would have had to have been designed with this in mind. Instead, I did a Frankenstein bit to a thrift store oak kitchen table. We built a box out from the wall for plumbing access. Still working on getting the correct pipes and equipment, but I will have my sink eventually! Note for those looking: PLAN! It's ridiculously heavy, but oh so pretty.
