So took a chance and ordered 1 “open box” and 1 full price stool for our game room. The open box arrived first. The box had obviously been opened previously as it was all taped up. But inside the seat top was still wrapped, padding was inside the box and foam still on all the wood accents. There was a small dent in the wood but Wayfair customer service was very helpful on options. As it is something we can fix with wood putty and sanding, we opted for a small credit. The only other issue was we were missing some hardware (1 screw & washers) as they were loose in the box. The second stool arrived the next day in perfect condition. Both are sturdy, well made chairs. We wanted the swivel option and arms as the stools go by our pool table. I would have preferred a darker wood finish but may try to do that on my own. The fabric is nice and heavy so I think it will hold up well. Also love the wood ring around the legs as it’s a perfect foot rest. I shopped a lot of places & sites as I didn’t want traditional game room stools (very dark wood, black leather seats, bulky) but I also did not want to pay $700 a stool, so I’m happy with the look, quality and price of these stools.. Good NESS! I am all over the place on this review. Let me start by saying that I love the look of this stool. It’s classy and feels very sturdy. It arrived with some pieces already assembled which doesn’t happen that often. It really only should have taken about 8 minutes to assemble, BUT…the screws were very hard to put in, particularly into the wooden back. I was only able to get 2 of 3 fully screwed in, even with a power screwdriver. Then, when screwing the footrest on, the hole is on the backside and it’s like playing Pin the Tail on the Donkey to find the screwhole. But, eventually, I got them all in. Then, the chair was very uneven. We finally saw that one of the end caps on the legs was upside down and that was an easy fix. (This was one of pieces that came already assembled).
