Put it back in the box and am returning ASAP. This is either a serious mistake or deliberate false advertising. I suggest that someone at the warehouse open one and put it together for themselves. The arms have a wide range of motion and a tight spring, so they will grip sofa arms that are both a little narrower and a little wider than the table part.
