Apparently a lot of people loved this as it was on back order for about 6 weeks. I see why. This is a GORGEOUS bowl. I was looking for something to replace a piece I I had bought from Wayfair years ago - a glass urn on a metal base - that unfortunately broke. I have copper accents in my neutral grey and khaki/bisque living room - table lamps etc - and wanted something that would pull the grays, in the room, together with the copper. I am charmed by the interesting lines and complex rust patterns on this fire pit we use on our lakeside patio. Because the designer omitted a drain hole, between uses, I empty the ash and turn the bowl upside down to prevent rain from collecting in the bowl. This rustic terra cotta bowl is given its unique character by using a centuries old, handmade process using canvas lined molds and traditionally fired kilns then rubbed by hand with dried moss and let to sit outdoors to naturally age which gives it a one-of-a-kind natural patina. Each piece is distressed using old clay to add texture and individually handled so natural ware such as gentle chips and variation in color are to be expected and embraced. I’ve had these for five years now and i’m obsessed. i e received dozens of compliments over the years. I sprayed immediately to get the rust color. I do wish I only sprayed a little so I could have enjoyed the grey a bit longer because it was gorgeous as a mix of color but it is what it is.
