This shelf is really beautiful and perfect for displaying all sorts of things. The design is practical with a fun flare. Building it took about five hours with the tools provided and doing everything by hand. If there is a faster way… I would recommend it. Just be aware that power tools could quickly ruin the material and cause issues. There are tools necessary to build this that are not provided (screwdriver) Steps 9 - 15 were confusing and I had to find my own way to make it work. This may be user error, but worth mentioning. The worst part was connect the two large pieces together once built. They go together with 26 small wooden dowels. On a soft surface (carpet) the pieces would not connect easily. The best method was to use gravity to get the large pieces to fully connect. This was the only part I actually needed TWO people as the instructions recommended. I REALLY like the metal plates that secure the two large pieces together. It makes the shelf feel secure and will make it easier to disassemble if need be. Overall, I would recommend this item as I really love the design and color. It has a large area of shelf space without taking up too much floor space.
