This pillow is a good mix of firm and soft, and is a great height and angle for the neck to rest on. My spouse used it for a few days, and it relieved some of the neck and back pain he'd been having! You could also rotate it to get a little more height if needed. The one thing I'll note is that it comes with a pillowcase to cover up the foam pillow, but the material is very slippery and the pillow will sometimes slide around.
