Overall, I absolutely love this desk! It did arrive with a few minor issues that Wayfair rectified. This is a solid piece of furniture. I would definitely recommend paying for the delivery and setup. The two compartments on the top lift up to open but sadly they do not lock in place to remain open, which could be a little inconvenient but there is a slow close on it so it does not slam closed. **TIP** there is a piece that covers the top so you can possibly sit items up there that is probably some type of mdf board and it probably blends in with the packaging and mine was thrown out, so just be mindful and ask for that piece. I like the Athulya computer desk very much. It’s a perfect size for the limited space I have in my sewing room. It’s in a temporary space at the moment because other furniture is coming for that room. That’s one good thing about the size and weight of the unit is it can be easily moved. The finish is nice. It’s a satin finish with a grain like texture. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the poor installation instructions. There are basically drawings, no wording, with letter indictors for the screws, dowels, etc. My husband is very handy but it took us some time to put it together with several curious stops.. Suzanne.
