I purchased this as an update for the trash can at the front entry way of my middle school. I like the design of the item and ease of being able to change the liner, and it was very easy to put together. I like that this comes with bolts so we can secure it to the ground. (We aren’t going to do that at this time). I must say, though, this is much shorter than I expected and it will not hold that much trash. While this is great for a commercial business, I have been using it as a trash receptacle for my backyard outdoor kitchen. It has been outside 24/7 for the past 3 weeks and has no signs of rust, even after being exposed to rain. Because it is so heavy, at least 50 pounds, I have not had any problems with it blowing away. The lid id somewhat difficult to remove for me,but my husband had no problem getting it off. I was able to find some huge heavy duty trash bags that fit nicely in it. I searched carefully for a trashcan that would both look good in the kitchen and be the right size for a small household (1- 2 people). This one is perfect. I chose platinum because I didn’t want it to be too shiny. It’s tall enough (26 inches) to hold a 13 gal., tall kitchen trash bag, but narrow enough (11.5 inch diameter) that I can still open my cabinets. (See photos.) The capacity is only 8 gallons, but if the bag has a drawstring, it’s easy to make a 13-gal. gal bag fit well. It came in with a small dent in the bottom side of can and my husband tapped it out with a cloth and rubber mallet because we thought it was small enough and Wayfair had definitely taken the precautions for that not to happen with the way it was packaged so it may have happened again if we shipped it back.
