Please make sure it can be exposed to direct sunlight. Insert it into soft soil or dig a hole for it in advance. We recommend keeping the solar panel clean always. These solar lights are beautiful but I have tried and tried to remove the plastic cover off the solar panel area on one of them. I even read that I could use warm water and that did not work. I also read you can warm it up with a blow dryer and that did not work. I am being extra careful to not damage the surface. I ordered these solar powered pathway lights to illuminate and give a little touch of ambiance to the walkway down the side of my house. These lights came very well packaged and took two minutes to assemble/connect the ground bases. They turned on immediately and I was in love with the perfect white light they provided. It has rained twice since they were placed outside and I have watered the garden several times in this area and they definitely seem waterproof. They are really well made. Pretty cool lights. I know they are for a fence but they are a little too wide for my fence so I will have to rethink where I will use them probably on my deck, but for now Im using them on my pathway. You can change it from bright white to cool white lights. It charged pretty fast too in the sun. It came with a ruler and hardware but I cant use the hardware on my aluminum fence.
