They project a very nice pattern. If the light gets a decent amount of sun during the day, it will last all night. If it's in the shade, maybe not. The different light intensities and colors are very fun. I used green to go across my lawn and white to go down the side of my driveway. I did have one stop working. I took two screws out of the back of the top and found the cable from the battery to the circuit board had disconnected. I plugged it back in, the light came on and has been good ever since. Yay!!!. These little lanterns are absolutely adorable! They are a bit smaller than I expected, but that’s completely on me because I didn’t pay close enough attention to the measurements before ordering. Honestly, I still think they’re really cute! I purchased them to add a little extra ambiance to my front porch for Halloween, and they fit right in with my decorations. I love the vintage black metal design, and the fact that they’re solar powered is a huge bonus. No batteries or cords to worry about! They haven’t even been sitting outside very long, and they’re already starting to light up, which I think is a great sign! I’m looking forward to seeing how they look once they’re fully charged and glowing after dark. They seem lightweight, and I love that they can either sit on a table or be hung up.
