I was doing it by myself and found it was easier to connect the pieces together with someone else as they are very heavy. As far as comfort, the couch could use some work in that department. It’s very stiff. We’ve only had it a few days so it might just need to be broken in. But as of right now it’s pretty hard to sit on. The lay down feature is very nice and great to watch movie and spread out. My husband is 5’10 and he’s too tall for it. I’m 5’5 and it’s just about the right height for me. When the portion is not out, it’s not super comfy to just sit and watch tv. I think it’s good for the price point and because it’s just the two of us. This would not work for a large family. It is smaller than I expected, but it is just right for my mother's small space. Very firm which she likes. The color is great. All in all it's perfect for her. She is 5'3" and it's hard to find furniture that is comfortable but also fits in her small apartment. And it's easy to get up and down because of the firmness. For the most part I love this! The cushions are a little on the firmer side but I like that. It was easy to put together and I was able to do it myself. There are 2 things I would change but obviously they aren’t deal breakers. The backs are a little too upright. Even just an inch or two more recline would make this so much more comfortable.
