Our coconut-coir pad is a one-inch mat made of coconut fiber (coir) infused with natural latex. The bed rug is porous and allows air circulation between the bottom of a mattress and a platform bed’s surface. It is strongly recommended for airflow under any mattress or futon on a solid-platform bed or for use as a breathable base for a traditional Shikibuton futon mattress. Inadequate air circulation under a mattress can cause moisture buildup and eventually mildew growth. A coconut-coir pad is an ideal solution as it provides air circulation allowing for a cooler sleep surface as well as prohibiting the growth of mildew.

This is a really nice mattress topper! It was super easy to take out the box and was easy to assemble it on to the bed. It is very plush and soft which goes great with a firmer mattress.
