Life aboard a 23rd-century starship is not without its troubles. Back then, starship interiors were cramped and privacy was a rare luxury enjoyed mostly by the bridge officers. So as to not be surprised by interlopers, Starfleet personnel were known to arm their com-panels with motion sensors to alert a room’s occupant when their thresholds were breached. This door chime replica of those very com-panels brings classic 23rd-century design to the 21st century. The all-new Star Trek: The Original Series Electronic Door Chime has been updated from its original version. Duplicates all of its original functionality with 4 new sounds and new lighting effects. 23rd century duotronic circuitry and subspace transceivers... that technology is still a few hundred years away.

Bells have been used throughout the ages to accompany dance, provide comfort, and warn of possible danger. The Chinese were the first to control the pitch or note of a bell, making it possible for them to play tunes. Soon bells were being used to accompany worship. On New Year's Eve, the bells in Buddhist temples are rung 108 times, once for each of the 108 worldly desires. In the East, bells have become very important and are often decorated with significant symbols. For centuries, tuned bells have been suspended in homes and temples to ward off evil and attract good luck and prosperity. Temple Bells Wind Chime is inspired by these ancient bells and works in harmony with the wind to create gentle, soothing tones.

In Buddhism, the gong is sounded at the start and end of each day. In Chinese temples, gongs are struck 108 times because it's believed that sentient beings have 108 types of worries. The teaching is this - upon hearing the gong, worries will cease, and wisdom will grow. The deep tones of this hand-hammered bronze gong are played by the peaceful winds of your environment or by hand. The authentic bronze gong design, the bold three-piece top, and the flaring wind catcher at the bottom all combine energetically indoors or out. A perfect companion to the Woodstock healing chime. In 1979, grammy® award-winning musician and instrument designer Garry Kvistad created the first Woodstock chime from an aluminum lawn chair he found in a landfill. Fascinated by the scale of Olympos, a 7th-century pentatonic scale that can’t be played on a modern piano, Garry cut and tuned the lawn chair tubes to the exact frequency of the ancient scale. The resulting chimes of Olympos were the first Woodstock chime and are still one of our best-selling, musically-tuned wind chimes. Garry and his wife Diane founded Woodstock Chimes in 1979 and it remains based in new york’s hudson valley. Woodstock chimes - the world's favorite windchime.

Ding dong! This rectangular door chime alerts you to guests and visitors without them having to knock. Simple and understated in design, it hooks up to your doorbell with a transformer, sold separately. It's made from metal in a muted tone, and it gives off a loud two-note chime with each push of the doorbell. It's also resistant to water, rust, and fire – so it's safe to install in covered outdoor locations. Measuring 8" x 7", this chime mounts flush against a flat surface, so it doesn't stand out in your entryway or living area.
