The San Felipe was one of the most beautiful Spanish ships in the 1600s. Launched in 1690, it had 96 cannons and was the lead ship of the feared Spanish Armada. It was powerful enough to go up against the most formidable ships in the French and British navies. In 1705, the San Felipe and 11 other Spanish ships waged a furious and heroic battle against 35 British ships. After 24 hours of fighting, the San Felipe was captured but was so badly damaged that it could not be salvaged as a prize. It sank with several tons of gold.

It took a little longer to arrive, but is well worth the wait. Solid construction and easy to assemble. I had it together in 15 minutes. The lighthouse stands at a little over 5’. The company even included a small paint kit so you can touch up areas when and if you need to. The lighthouse looks better than what is shown on Wayfair. The quality is nothing short of excellent. I love the Patriotic theme. Tomorrow I’ll place this on a dolly to take to my front lawn. It requires an electrical outlet to plug into. Lucky for me we have one center front of house. The Harvey was built in 1847 in the state of Maryland. She was an able sailer working out of the port of Galveston Texas. At the turn of the Century, she was making several voyages a year between Galveston and the ancient Jewish port of Jaffa which at the time was still under the Ottoman empire. Her main cargo was hemp used to make ropes for the rigging of ships.

There has been great interest in the fifth Victory ship, which was built 15 years earlier and whose wreckage was found recently by Odyssey Marine Exploration.

I just received this Aubree Replica Lighthouse delivery. It is so well made, sturdy and heavy, the paint job is flawless, the details on it add to make it a true work of art. There are gold chains which encircle the widow’s walk outside the lantern room. Inside this is where the electrical socket with the light bulb is to light up this whole section. The three-masted topsail schooner Atlantic was one of twelve vessels that competed for the 1905 Emperor's Cup, a prize put up by Germany's Kaiser Wilhelm for a race between New York and the Lizard (the extreme tip of Cornwall). Atlantic won the cup by achieving a time of twelve days and four hours. In one 24-hour period, she ran 348 nautical miles. She was taken up by the US Navy in both world wars and was eventually acquired by the US Coast Guard Academy. Although the Atlantic was built as a racing craft, she had a stateroom accommodation for seven people. Launched in 1903, she won the Kaisers Cup in a very exciting race by crossing the Atlantic in 12 days, 4 hours, 1 minute, 19 seconds.

Beautiful statement piece to have in your home! We wanted something unique and used it in place of a guest book at our costal-themed wedding. It is now filled with names written on the sails, and is beautiful. I had my father put it together, so I can’t attest to how the set up was. The bow has a piece of wood that the sails are connected to that inserts into the hull. You can see in the photo that it must have popped out at some point, and is leaning up against the hull. This likely happened when it was transported to our venue, but it is easy to pop back into place- just beware that this can happen. It is very well-made and we received countless compliments!
