This is a really nice chopper. This can do everything and then some. It can even make whipped cream! Cake mix, piece of cake!. The suction cups on the bottom are very, very strong. All I did was put it down and it was hard to move, which, is a good thing. I kept the blades on the bubble wrap for my safety. This looks like metal, the base does, but it is plastic and I think this is a plus.. It will not tip over, and I really love the different discs. The bookmanuel is also a big help as it lets you know what each blade does and helps you figure out what goes wrong if it does. I highly recommend this appliance.. Kathy. Pennsylvani. I really do like my Cuisinart Stand Mixer. It has plenty of power for the things I use a mixer for which is mostly cakes. I got a black quilted cover for the mixer to protect it from dust and keep its bowl clean. I had originally wondered how the Robins Egg Blue color would look in a stainless steel and black combo kitchen but it is beautiful. This mixer replaces my old Sunbeam twin beater mixer .
