Then you have a choice of raising the headrest up while just sitting in it, or raise the head rest up and recline. Its a great chair. Nice build. Heavy box delivery, takes at least two people, unless you disassemble it wherever it is placed. Upon construction, sliding the back wing pieces on was a bit frustrating, but once they were in place, everything was good to go. The phone/tablet holder is a nice added touch and it's even better that it's reasonably removable! For those who like heat, this baby HEATS UP! My dad is cold always, he sat in it and turned it on and forgot to turn it off. Within 5 minutes after sitting back down, my back was toasted beyond my liking... I do not like added heat, I'm a warmblooded person...but if that's you're thing, this baby does heat up. I won't be using that feature. The chair is comfortable and silent as advertised. So easy to put together. Unfortunately the packing was not strongsturdy enough for the weight of the chair and it arrived damaged with the box destroyed. The arm pulled away from the base. It’s a heavy piece and there was no reinforcement of the box. Thankfully it looks fixable and we have the tools and skills to fix it. Beautiful recliner. I love the look and the glow from the nightlight underneath is perfect for middle of the night feedings. The power recline is great. It is not the more ergonomic especially is you are on the more petite side, it’s hard for me to be all the way with my back against the back and to be able to use my feet to rock as I am lifted too high.
