It's a VERY pretty fan. The blades are a very light gray wash look - high end. I got the Nickel finish motor. On/off via light switch and then the remote controls everything. Most fans I run at speed 1 for sleeping and that creates some air movement. But this fan doesn't push a lot of air, so i have to use speed 2 or 3 to get the same effect. This is in a guest room, which is rarely used, so that's fine for my needs. But if you need a fan that REALLY creates a breeze in a room, this is NOT the one. (Minus a star for that).. Tamara954. So far I love these fans. Ordered them together (2) so they would match rooms that are next to each other. The light is bright enough for large rooms, but can be dimmed, It has 6 speeds which is more than my last fans (only had 3), sturdy, so much lighter than my old ones and easy to put together (per hubby). The real wood blades are nice and very light weight. The wind speed works well for our living room and kitchen. Remote is easy to use and I like that there is a timer on the fan also of 1, 4 and 8 hours. There are 3 light settings so you can choose soft, day, and very bright (the bluish type) to fit your room needs. We like the soft one for the living room and the medium one for the kitchen. Beautiful ceiling fanlight for small to medium rooms. I very specifically ordered the matte finish to avoid any reflections but the blades still have a fairly reflective surface. The base of the unit is made of sturdy materials. However, the pieces that handle the most movement seem the be made of the plastics you’d find in the toy bin at the bargain store when you’re running late for a child’s birthday party. The remote looks very nice but feels cheaply fragile and awkward in your hand. The blades are plastic and very light and feel almost flimsy. The lights make up for all the flaws. Beautiful quiet fan. Looks amazing. Light ring directions adjustable just like description. Only beef would be the remote is confusing for changing light brightness and color. Light is fairly bright but not as blinding as I had hoped for our room. Light seems to default back to a 4000k color rather than a slightly warmer 3500k for a bedroom. Overall super happy though..
