This shade was a great replacement for the old, yellow one that broke. It features a soft, bright matte white finish. Although it comes with a cap equipped with two holes for pull chains, only the center chain is functional because the opening is too narrow to use the fan chain—at least for my model of fan. This is my second purchase for this specific medallion- it is small but works in compact spaces like closets and entryways. I really like it because I use faux styrofoam ceiling tiles to cover ugly ceilings after scraping popcorn texture (and to avoid drywall repair and re-texturing). This was a little smaller than I anticipated (assumed it would be the same size as a similar medallion from the same brand, silly me) but it is a subdued, elegant touch to upgrade a fixture I still want to replace!
