This is a Beautiful garden entrance arbor. I am in the process of putting it together so the picture doesn’t show the finished gate. It arrived with some broken pieces so I knocked off a star for broken pieces. It’s soft wood and I’m not sure how long it will last in the Texas elements but it’s very pretty and the color matches my fence. It’s a little wobbly so I’m going to dig it into the ground for it to be more sturdy. I’m using it to create a divide from my ugly side yard and I’ll be planting grapes over the arbor and I think it will look very pretty. Im so excited to put this together and set up the garden. The packaging came in easy to move pieces. I’ll update the review with photos once it’s all set up. Update this was a lot of work to put together but definitely worth it. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this arbor it is nice wood and the color is very nice as well, I would advise you determine and measure first the location you want this to be placed as it is bigger than you might think. Also, some help would be needed to put the arbor together, put the pieces of the doors together before you start putting the screws in so you make sure that everything is leveled and both doors close right.. The arbor is beautiful and strong. I gave it 4 stars because there is an issue. The lattice is made of very thin cedar (less than 1/4 of an inch) and it is stapled together. A few or the staples came loose during assembly and will need to be redone. I am considering adding stronger cedar boards on the sides to strengthen it. At this price point, I think the manufacturer should have used stronger wood for the lattice. There were also a few bumps and marks, but these were minor. The packaging and quality of the cedar is very good. Like Teal, of Pomona, NY stated in their review: it’s a box of wood and bag of hardware and some very simplistic instructions. As a prolific builder and DIYfer I used my experience in assembling the arch. Fortunately, I have a pneumatic brad nailer with galvanized brads which made short time in nailing the many pieces together. I did not follow the slat spacing suggestions from the directions, rather having read the reviews, I made my own jig spacers after careful measurements. Pros: Good quality cedar; Looks excellent when completed; Assembly is straight forward once you figure out the spacing; Left unfinished the cedar will gracefully weather Cons: Directions need embellishment; Not for those wanting a quick assembly; Took over 6 hours to complete; Nails provided are not galvanized and should be of an outside product; Only 2 decorative wooden “arrows”---should be 4 for two on each side; Added longer and beefier exterior screws at the top/side joints for more strength.
